Richmond Sports Awards

The 14th Annual Richmond Sports Awards presented by the Richmond Sports Council took place on Wednesday May 22. The Awards recognize achievement in athletics in a variety of categories for 2012. Congratulations to RYSA award winners and all nominees for their achievenments in 2012.....

Richmond Oval Sport Leadership Program

The Richmond Oval is accepting applications for its Sport Leadership Program. It is open to youth ages 15 years and older and is an opportunity for athletic leaders to receive 2 NCCP Coaching Courses, Emergency First Aid, volunteer hours, resume/interview feedback, 2 months membership at the Oval and 2 high school credits. BC Soccer - No Standings for U12 and Below

BC Soccer recently further highlighted its commitment the Canadian Soccer Associations (CSA) Wellness to World Cup Long Term Player Development (LTPD) program/model by re-confirming that there are to be no recording and posting of standings for U12 and below.

BC Coastal Cup Results

Congratulations to the following Richmond teams for winning the Coastal Cup Championships held May 4 and 5 in Richmond:

Boys U15 Richmond United (defeated Saanich Fusion 1-0)
Girls U13 All-Star Selects (defeated Harbour City FC 3-0)
Girls U15 Synergy (defeated CCB Elite 4-0)
These teams are off to Provincials July 4-7 in Langley.

The Boys U14 Richmond United lost in penalty kicks to Coquitlam MF after fighting back from a 2-0 deficit. The Boys U18 Richmond United lost a heartbreaker to league rival Burnaby Selects 3-2. The U18 teams does advance on to Provincials.
A fantastic job by all teams who qualified for the Coastal Cup tournament and to those that made it to the Coastal Cup Championships after a long season that started at the beginning of September. Well done!!!

RYSA Graduates WIN President's Cup

In their inaugural season in the RASA, the RYSA Graduates win their second trophy of the season in a 2-1 OT victory vs IFC Insurgency in the President's Cup game. The Graduates also won the RASA Second Division League.

The Graduates are coached by Mike Rubinstein and co-managed by Brett Livingstone and Mark Fletcher.
